PixelRetrieverTerms of service
Last updated 7 June 2026
These terms cover your use of PixelRetriever. They’re written to be readable, not to trip you up. In short: we help you find where your photos appear online; you stay responsible for your own files and for how you act on what we find. PixelRetriever is a discovery tool, not a legal or enforcement service.
1. The service
PixelRetriever connects to a photo source you choose (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or direct upload), creates a perceptual fingerprint of your photos, and periodically searches the web for matching images using reverse-image-search technology. We show you the results in a review portal. We do not verify ownership, assess copyright, send takedown notices, or pursue claims on your behalf.
2. Your account
You must provide an accurate email address and keep your account secure. You’re responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18, and you may only connect photo sources and folders you have the right to access.
3. Your content
Your photos remain yours. By connecting a source or uploading photos, you grant us a limited licence to process them for the sole purpose of providing the service — that is, to generate a fingerprint, create a temporary downscaled preview, run the reverse image search, and store a thumbnail for display in your dashboard. We claim no other rights. You confirm you have the rights needed to let us process the photos you connect.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use PixelRetriever to:
- track, profile or surveil people without a lawful basis;
- connect content you don’t have the rights to, or that is illegal;
- harass, stalk or harm anyone using the results we surface;
- attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service.
What you do with the matches we find is your responsibility. Always act lawfully and reasonably.
5. Plans, scans and fair use
Each plan includes a number of scans and a maximum number of monitored photos per cycle. When your archive exceeds your plan’s limit, Pixel rotates through your photos rather than dropping them. We may apply reasonable rate limits to keep the service healthy for everyone. Plan details and current limits are shown on our pricing page and in your dashboard.
6. Payment, renewal and cancellation
Paid subscriptions are billed through Paddle, our merchant of record, who also handles applicable VAT. Subscriptions renew automatically each cycle until cancelled. You can cancel any time from Settings → Billing; you keep access until the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable. Upgrades may be prorated.
7. Third-party services
The service depends on third parties (your cloud provider, search providers, payment and infrastructure providers). Their availability and results are outside our control, and your use of a connected cloud remains subject to that provider’s own terms.
8. No guarantees
PixelRetriever is provided “as is”. Reverse image search is not exhaustive: we can’t guarantee we’ll find every use of your photos, that every match is accurate, or that the service will be uninterrupted. A match is a lead for you to review — not a legal finding.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Suspension and termination
You can stop using PixelRetriever and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end accounts that breach these terms or put the service or others at risk.
11. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by Dutch law. We may update them from time to time; we’ll change the date above and, for material changes, let you know. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
